Manchester City winger Jack Grealish got emotional while giving an interview after winning the UEFA Champions League Final. Cityense won the competition for the first time in history as they beat Inter Milan 1-0 at Istanbul’s Ataturk Stadium.

Rodri scored the winning goal in the 68th minute. Despite showing some scares late on, Inter were unable to find the net. After the match, Grealish told the media (via talkSPORT):

“That’s exactly what you work your whole life for. I’m so happy man. I played so dead today I was horrible, I don’t care though. Honestly winning the treble with this group of players and this machine is so special.”

He further added:

“Anyone who knows me knows how much I am a person in my family and how much I love football and I don’t know, that’s what I’ve worked on all my life.”

And the Englishman continued:

“Thinking back to all the people who helped you along the way and seeing my family in the crowd there, it makes me emotional.”

The former Aston Villa man also spoke about Pep Guardiola, saying:

“He’s just a genius, isn’t he. I said to him there ‘I just want to thank you, you made this happen to me, you trust me so much, you bought me for a lot of money.'”

He completed:

“Even last year when I was playing shit he stayed there with me and talked to me and this year he gave me that platform, so I said ‘thank you’ to him.”
