The free online Mathematics course offered by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras will focus on multiple approaches to problem solving.
tIndian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras launches a free online mathematics course called “Out of the Box”. It revolves around multiple approaches to problem solving. It will be conducted through IIT Madras Pravartak Technologies, a second 8 company of IIT Madras, which will also issue the score certificate to the students who sit the exams for a fee.
Professor V Kamakoti, Director, IIT Madras, said about the free online mathematics course to News18, “This course is the first of its kind in India and will have a huge impact in the coming days. We will see the benefits of this course in the next few years. The course is offered for free. It will benefit This course is very much for school and college students, especially those who reside in rural India.”
Things To Know To Apply For IIT Madras Free Mathematics Course:
- The three-month registered online course will be held twice a year in June and January.
- Registration is free but to get a graduated degree, candidates have to pay a small fee.
- The course is open to students, professionals, researchers or anyone interested in the field.
- There are four levels of the course, 10 weeks each level.
- There will be 20 hours of recorded video sessions, 2 hours per week.
- Apart from the sessions, periodic assignments, assessments and assessments will be conducted.
- Based on the assessment of the final exam, a certificate of IITM Pravartak will be issued.
- The final exam will be conducted at centers in selected cities across India.
- Candidates of any nationality can apply for the course.
