Real Madrid are expected to go the extra mile in this summer’s team rebuilding exercise after a difficult season. Carlo Ancelotti’s side lost the La Liga title to arch-rivals Barcelona and were knocked out of the UEFA Champions League by eventual winners Manchester City in the semi-finals.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid defender Antonio Rudiger wants striker Kai Havertz to move to the Santiago Bernabeu. Elsewhere, defender Reece James is set to join Los Blancos.

On that note, here’s a look at the top Real Madrid transfer stories as of June 11, 2023:

Antonio Rudiger hopes to meet his good friend Kai Havertz at Real Madrid this summer.

The Chelsea forward could leave Stamford Bridge this year after failing to impress the club’s hierarchy. Los Blancos have long admired the 23-year-old and failed to convince him to move to the Santiago Bernabeu in 2020. Havertz eventually decided to join the Blues after leaving Bayer Leverkusen that year, but the La Liga giants retained interest in the German.

The player’s recent troubles with the London giants have caught the eye at the Santiago Bernabéu. Real Madrid have rekindled their interest in Havertz and are finally looking to get their man this summer.

The La Liga giants are expected to invest in attack following the departures of Karim Benzema, Eden Hazard and Marco Asensio. Havertz is among the names on the club’s wish list.

While on international duty, as cited by AS, Rudiger said the final decision on the move rests with Los Blancos.

“I would be happy to play with Havertz again at club level,” Rudiger said. “Unfortunately, I can’t say much about it… Regarding transfers, my opinion is secondary. It’s the club’s decisions.”

Havertz and Rudiger were teammates at Stamford Bridge.

The England full-back has gone from strength to strength in recent seasons with Chelsea, sparking interest from clubs across the continent. The 23-year-old has been plagued by injuries this season, but his stock remains high. Los Blancos are among the clubs vying for his services ahead of the summer.

The La Liga giants are on the market for a new right-back as they look to plot out succession plans for Dani Carvajal. The Spanish full-back has enjoyed an impressive run at the Santiago Bernabeu but has shown signs of fading this season. Real Madrid believe James is the ideal candidate for the role and are closely monitoring his status with the Blues.

It was previously thought that keeping the Englishman away from the London giants this summer would be next to impossible. However, it now appears that the move could happen this year, especially since the player is all set to arrive at the Santiago Bernabeu.

However, Los Blancos have yet to strike a deal with Chelsea to obtain their prized assets, which will be easier said than done.

The 20-year-old has been an inspiration for RB Salzburg recently and has already agreed to join RB Leipzig this summer. However, he could leave the German club even before he kicked the ball. Los Blancos are keen to sign a new No. 9 this summer and put Cisco on their radar.

The La Liga giants have to bring in a worthy replacement for Karim Benzema, who has decided to leave the club after more than a decade of service. Real Madrid have multiple names on their radar to fill the shoes of the mercurial Frenchman.

Sesko might be among the cheaper options on offer, with the player valued at €50m. Los Blancos also have their eyes on Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane, but the England player could cost a fortune this summer.

Cisco’s inexperience adds a degree of uncertainty to the entire transfer process, so the club would best be advised to sign a more established striker. However, there is no denying the Slovenian qualities. The 20-year-old has 18 goals and four assists in 41 appearances across Salzburg’s competitions this season.
