UP BJP Leader Found Dead With Bullet Wound in House, Wife Booked for Culpable Homicide

After a 35-year-old local BJP leader was found dead in his home with a bullet in the chest in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, his wife was arrested on charges of first-degree murder on Saturday night.

The incident took place in the Kasaba Bazar area of ​​Kankarkhira district on Saturday.

Nishank Garg was the Social Media Officer for the Regional Unit (West UP) of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM).

According to the preliminary investigation, Garg’s wife alleged that her husband committed suicide early Saturday morning, Chief Inspector of Police Rohit Singh said.

The wife, Sonia, said in her statement to the police that her husband was very drunk on Friday night and beat her as well.

According to the wife, the two had a fight around 1 am on Saturday, after which the wife went to her parents’ home nearby around 3 am.

She got home at 6.30am when she saw Garg lying in a pool of blood with a bullet wound in the chest.

After that, the police arrived at the place, but they were unable to fire the bullets, and after interrogation, it was found that Sonia hid the bullet for fear of the police.

However, more details were found out after further questioning.

Meerut City SP Piyush Singh said Indian Express that “during the fight Garg held his gun and threatened to kill her, at which time the bullet was fired by mistake and hit Nishank in the chest.”
