Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia has summoned Congress Leader K.P.

Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia launched a scathing attack on Congress leader KC Venugopal for his statement of “raising air ticket prices” calling it “ill-considered” and “shocking”.

“As the former Secretary of State for Civil Aviation, it is absolutely appalling that @kcvenugopalmp Ji has made such undistinguished and ill-informed remarks about the aviation sector. We have advised airlines to self-regulate their prices under a certain limit – as a result prices are down 14% – 60% since June 6, 2023,” Scindia tweeted.

Continuing the feud on Twitter, the Congress leader responded to Scindia’s tweet, saying, “The suffering of the middle class cannot be taken away by distorting the numbers and misrepresenting the actual facts on the ground.”

Venugopal also attached two screenshots depicting the price of flight ticket from New Delhi to Bengaluru saying “Trips on major routes like Delhi and Bengaluru are beyond the reach of the common man.”

He further asked if the Minister of Aviation was him I’m still going to defend these rates.

Earlier, KC Venugopal attacked the central government led by Narendra Modi saying Remarks by Prime Minister Modi That people who wear hawaii chappals can now travel on planes sounds like a “cruel joke”.

In a series of tweets, the Congress leader asked if the government was planning any intervention to check tickets.

These soaring flights create havoc among the middle class. The government’s completely free permit for airlines, along with a rampant privatization spree, is responsible for today’s dire situation. MoCA_GoI has to face some hard truths,” said Venugopal.

“With Go First collapsing, and SpiceJet barely flying any ways, why hasn’t the government had a strategy to rectify this huge drop in the number of flights?” asked the Congress leader.

Responding to the Congress leader’s tweet, Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia affirmed that “Indian economy remains a beacon of hope with a growth rate of 6.0% – 6.5% in FY 2023-2024” in a six-point response.

“There is no reason why an unregulated sector like aviation should be brought under government control – its repercussions are known to have affected the sector’s growth potential in the past,” Scindia added.
