Cody Rhodes is heading to London for Money in the Bank, but his opponent won’t be Brock Lesnar. Instead, on the final episode of RAW, he challenged one of the former SmackDown Tag Team Champions to a match for the next month.
This former tag team champion is none other than Dominique Mysterio from Judgment Day! But how did all this happen?
For example, the show opened with Adam Pearce presenting Rhea Ripley with a new title belt – the WWE Universal Women’s Championship. When Dominic goes out to celebrate with Ripley at her coronation moment, they are interrupted by Cody Rhodes.
Last week on RAW, Ripley and Dominick Miz interrupted TV while Cody was the guest. Cody and Dominic had a verbal back and forth, causing the latter to give The American Nightmare a quick slap before hiding behind Rhea Ripley.
This week, Cody Rhodes went straight to the point and challenged him to a match at Money in the Bank, which was accepted by Ripley on Dominik’s behalf.
Cody addressed Brock Lesnar only by saying he didn’t have what it takes to confront him again. This likely means their triple threat will happen at SummerSlam 2023 in August.
After the segment, Rhodes defeated The Miz and opened up in the process.
