American jiu-jitsu Tai Rotolo does not like losing, which is why he apologized after he failed in the recent 2023 International Federation of Jiu-Jitsu World Championships.

The 20-year-old Atos Jiu-Jitsu affiliate made his middleweight debut at the World Championships but found himself settling for the bronze medal after being defeated by eventual champion Janssen Gomez Ramos in the semifinals.

While he was enjoying the competition, Tye Ruotolo shared that losing the semi-finals had some sting as he felt he had left his team and the people who supported him.

He went to Instagram and said:

“I’m disappointed with my result, but mostly grateful for the amount of love and support I felt last weekend. I have the best team and people around me. Congratulations to my team Atos for a great performance. Sorry to those I let go, on to the next one💪🏾”

The next player for Tye Ruotolo could be back in the ONE Championship where he is a famous grappling athlete with his twin brother Kade, the only world lightweight champion to wrestle.

Among those he’s interested in facing is New Wave Jiu-Jitsu’s Nicholas Merigalli, whom he lost in the semifinals of the 2022 IFC World Championships.

Another one is five-time world champion Gordon Ryan.

Tye Ruotolo was last to event in ONE back in May at ONE Fight Night 10 on Prime Video, which was the promotion’s first live event on Earth in the United States.

He defeated World Middleweight Champion Rainier De Ridder via unanimous decision at their submission, as they wrestled to remain undefeated for the ONE Championship in three fights to date.
