The case concerned a criminal plot hatched by the now outlawed PFI leaders and cadres to recruit, radicalize and provide gun training to promote and carry out terrorist activities.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Tuesday arrested a chief weapons instructor of the People’s Front of India (PFI), living under an assumed identity in Karnataka, for his involvement in a terrorist plot case in Nizamabad.
The case relates to a criminal plot hatched by the now outlawed PFI leaders and cadres to recruit, radicalize and provide weapons training to promote and carry out terrorist activities with the ultimate aim of establishing Islamic rule in India.
The arrested accused, Nasan Muhammad Yunus @ Yunus from Nandyal, has disappeared with his family and has been on the run since his house was searched by the NIA in September 2022. The NIA investigation revealed that he had moved his entire family from Andhra Pradesh and was living in the shadow of it. fake id in karnataka.
Yunus was a master weapons instructor and was providing weapons training to young men recruited by PFI in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana region. He was also the state coordinator of physical education training for these two states in the case of Nizamabad Children Safety.

Telangana Police initially registered an FIR on the case on 4 July 2022, before NIA took over the case and re-registered it as (RC-03/2022/NIA/HYD). The NIA has already filed two indictments against 16 defendants in this case.
The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) declared in September 2022 that the International Red Cross and its affiliates were an ‘illegal association’ after their involvement in violent activities came to light during investigations by various state police units and national agencies.
