The second match of the 2023 Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) saw Salem Spartans take on the Chepauk Super Gillies at the SNR College Cricket Ground in Coimbatore.
Batting first, Chepauk Super Gillies scored 217 on the board, courtesy of an impressive 55-ball 88 from Pradosh’s Ranjan Paul at the top of the order. Sanjay Yadav also bowled an impressive display of 31* from 12 balls. Sunny Sandhu finished off the Spartans with figures of 2/32.
In response, the Salem Spartans stumbled to the chase. Muhammad Adnan Khan top-scored with 47*, but a lack of contributions from the other batsmen meant they fell short of the target by 52 runs. Super Gillies took nine wickets in all and they completed a comprehensive victory.
List of Most Played TNPL 2023
Chepauk Super Gillies’ Pradush Ranjan Paul jumped to number one in the list of most TNPL runs after the second match ended. He reached 12 fours and a maximum to score 88 off just 55 balls and was instrumental in their descent. To a competition winning start.
Lyca Kovai Kings’ Sai Sudharsan slipped to second after Paul’s heroics with the bat in the second match of TNPL 2023. Sudharsan bowled an impressive knock of 86 against IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans in their opening match off just 45 balls and grabbed the player of the match award.
The Salem Spartans were chasing 218 against the Super Gillies but were battling at 108/7 in 17 overs. Muhammad Adnan Khan came out to bat in the ninth and played an impressive innings. He hit a maximum six and four to remain unbeaten in 47 off 15 balls. He has now moved to the third position in the list of most played plays for TNPL 2023.
TNPL 2023 Most Wickets List
There is no noticeable movement in most of the Tamil Nadu Premier League 2023 wicket list after the conclusion of the second match. SRK, captain of the Lyca Kovai Kings, led from the front and picked up three wickets in their opening match against IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans. Thus he became the leading wicket-taker in the competition.
Vijay Shankar was the standout bowler for IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans in their loss against Lyca Kovai Kings. He caught three wickets, gave 26 runs in four innings, and bowled beautifully. He sits just below Shah Rukh in the list of most wickets for TNPL 2023.
Muhammad M of Lyca Kovai Kings is third in the list for most wickets, with two wickets to his name. He picked up two scalps in one match against IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans and played a key role in them getting to a winning start in the tournament.
