The Denver Nuggets have a chance to win another championship next season if they keep their heart, but Kendrick Perkins has a different view on what the future of the NBA will look like. While the former NBA player credited the Nuggets for being a great team, he believes it will be difficult for them to win another title next year.

The Nuggets managed to win their first title last night as they took advantage of a Miami Heat who didn’t have a third MVP. Denver could win another title next season if they can keep their key players, which they will. However, other teams are starting to address their weaknesses to be able to compete against teams like Team Colorado.

Burke explained that because of the past five years where the NBA has had five different champions, it will be difficult for Nikola Jokic and the rest to win another championship next year.

“It’s the field, it’s the growth of the NBA.” Perkins said.

We will not see a back-to-back NBA championship in the next 15 to 20 years!!! Continue to Hell…

“When we look at the past five seasons, we’ve had five different NBA champions. (Toronto) Raptors, (Los Angeles) Lakers, (Milwaukee) Bucks, Golden State (Warriors) and now (Denver) Nuggets…you have it all in an office.” “I have program directors in front of me in their offices trying to figure out how they can improve for next season. Teams will grow, teams will improve their roster, and they will improve their coaching staff.”

“So it’s going to be tough. Not just for them to have a bloodline, but to have a repeat. I predict this; I don’t think we’ll see another repeat for the next 15 to 20 years.”

Perkins may be right in his analysis this time. Teams are now quick to swap pieces to build a competitive team and hopefully win the title.

Jokic made history last night by leading the Nuggets to their first title in franchise history. He capped it off by winning the Finals MVP award and leaving Kendrick Perkins impressed.

“Last night, we witnessed the center rise from the dead. It’s more about Jokic than it is about the Denver Nuggets. It’s been more than two decades since a center led his team to an NBA championship.” Burke said.

Earlier this season, Perkins accused the Nuggets center of pumping up his stats to get his triple doubles. Even after Jokic was called a stat player, the former NBA big man still managed to show love to the two-time MVP.
