At ONE Fight Night 11, Kade Ruotolo proves he has the fighting spirit of a world champion.
Defending his ONE World Welterweight Championship by submission submission for the second time, the defending King had to dig deep to retain his title this past Friday, June 9th.
With his relentless speed and aggression, Cade earned a unanimous decision victory over Tommy Langacker after a closely contested fight.
Just as many fans and experts expected, the Norwegian challenger proved to be the champion’s toughest test yet on the ONE stage, threatening with a combination of top-level technique and physical prowess.
On top of the physical challenge, Kade Ruotolo revealed after the match that he had been experiencing some recurring issues during his preparation for the competition that had hampered his camp.
In his post-fight interview, Kady revealed that while his injuries did not stop him due to pain, they affected his performance by not allowing him to train the way he would have liked:
“I I don’t even think it was a huge pain with the injury, it’s more of a lack of preparation that led to the accident, in the match.”

By overcoming the adversities he faced in and out of the ring, Kade has proven that he is not just a BJJ prodigy due to his technique alone.
To become the champion you have to defeat the champion and the flag bearer of the sport is not easy to break as some people think at first.
