Being a WWE Champion is never easy, with the goal firmly on your back. Newly crowned NXT Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton found out exactly that just one week after winning the title at Battleground. Now, she has the first challenge for her defining title firmly on her horizon.
The first time she appeared on NXT after her win, Stratton invited the all-female locker room of WWE NXT to celebrate with her. Unfortunately for her, they were in no mood to do so, so it was only when she announced that she would announce the exit of the next challenger. When she said that the challenger would be decided by the Battle Royal, the entire crew attacked her, knocking her out and forcing her to retreat.
Since then, her next challenger has been decided, as Thea Hail wins the Battle Royal to become the #1 contender. However, heading into the week, her credibility is also tested, as Cora Jade says her victory has been stolen.
The two women confronted each other, and thanks to a distraction from Dana Brooke, Thea Hail managed to get Jade to take advantage of the Kimura Lock. Now, with no one in her way anymore, Hale and Stratton will confront each other.
While a date for the match has yet to be set, The Great American Bash event is coming up on July 30, 2023. It remains to be seen if the two face each other before then.
Tiffany Stratton talks about her dream match in WWE
While still establishing herself in NXT, Stratton feels ready for a massive match, which she describes as her dream. The NXT Women’s Champion said she would love to face Charlotte Flair and Bianca Belair in a triple threat, even saying it would be the best women’s match in history.
“I would say a triple threat between me and Charlotte Flair and Bianca Belair. I think we’re all very athletic. We’re all very competitive, and I honestly think you’re not going to find a better women’s match in history,” said Stratton.
For Stratton to be called up to WWE’s main roster, this match would have to be theoretical, but an enticing one nonetheless.
