Ashok Singh, 64, retired from Engineers India Limited as Senior Manager in 2019, lives in IP Extension with wife and son Aditya Singh, computer engineer in Gurugram

A man in Madhu Vihar here on Saturday stabbed his 23-year-old son when he got involved in a fight between him and his wife that started over downloading a mobile app, police said.

A senior police officer said Ashok Singh, 64, retired from Engineers India Limited as a senior manager in 2019, and lives in IP Extension with his wife and son Aditya Singh, a computer engineer in Gurugram.

According to the officer, Ashok recently bought a flat in Gurgaon and in order to make some payments, he asked his wife Manju Singh to download an app on her phone.

Police said Ashok got angry when the app took time to download and started a fight with his wife.

Police said that when Aditya intervened, Ashok got carried away and stabbed him in the chest with a kitchen knife.

Aditya was taken to Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital with a wound above the ribs and was discharged after treatment.

Police added that a case is being registered under Section 324 (Causing Harm with Dangerous Weapons or Means) of IPC against Ashok.
