The Angel Nabajiban Charitable Society will be organizing a fashion show for the transgender community with the aim of encouraging their creativity and upliftment.

The fashion show and beauty contest will be called ‘Alpin’ and will be held at Bardhaman on 30th July.

Speaking at a press briefing in Kolkata on Saturday, Angel Nabajiban charity founder Sangita Sinha said the initiative aims to “raise the sense of style, skills and creativity of members of the LGBTQ community”.

TMC MLA Press and Former Minister of State Madan Mitra and Principal of India’s First Transgender College Manabe Bandyopadhyay also attended the meeting.

The LGBTQ community needs a platform to express themselves through fashion and beauty. Through this initiative, they will be able to showcase their talents,” Mitra said.

“The LGBTQ community has many hidden talents. This initiative will bring them out, providing them with opportunities to thrive like ordinary individuals,” Bandopadhyay said.
