Railway authorities planned to dedicate the train to the public on June 26, according to senior officials of the South Western Railway.

South Western Railways will conduct a trial run of the Vande Bharat Express between Bengaluru and Dharwad on Monday.

In a statement, SWR said the trial run of the Vande Bharat Express which includes eight buses will depart Bengaluru at 5.45 am and arrive in Dharwad at 12.40 pm.

The return trip by luxury semi-high-speed train from Dharwad will start at 1.15pm and reach Bengaluru at 8.10pm.

During the trial run, the train will make three short stops at Yashwantpur, Davangere and Hubballi.

Sources at SWR said that 90 percent of the track has been optimized to run the train at 110 kilometers per hour.

“Of the 489 km track, 386 km fit for a speed of 110 km per hour. The rest will be upgraded by July this year,” a senior railway official told PTI.

After Mysuru Chennai, this will be Karnataka’s second Vande Bharat Express, which will run between Bengaluru and Dharwad.
