Former Indian batsman Virender Sewag believes that foreign coaches can display the same prejudices that often accuse Indian coaches and cites the example of when Greg Chappell promised him the captain’s position but removed him from the national team after two months.
Sehwag said that during his time in the national team, he would ask his seniors why there was no Indian coach after John Wright, and the answer he got was that bias was a big factor.

Sehwag then said that the Indian team was not in a situation where it needed training, but rather a unit that needed better management. He added that coaches who have a good relationship with the players and know the individual requirements of the players have been more successful. Then give the example of Gary Kirsten.
