World heavyweight champion Arjan Bahular is unfazed by the remarks made by interim champion Anatoly Malykhin in the run-up to his much-anticipated unification bout later this week.

‘Singh’ Bhullar has confirmed that Sladkiy is just talk and will show who the real king of the tag team is at ONE Friday Fights 22 on June 23 at the Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok.

Anatoly Malekhin warned that he would interrupt the Canadian-Indian reign and begin his dominance in the heavyweight division. But Arjan Bhullar plays it down and is confident of maintaining the status quo when all is said and done.

He said South China Morning Post In an interview:

“Let’s see him try. Let’s see him try. I’m just going to stand there and let him kill me? Give me a break. He couldn’t kill anything.”

ONE Friday Fights 22 will see Arjan Bhullar return to action for the first time since becoming World Heavyweight Champion in May 2021. He dethroned former and now-retired champ Brandon Vera with a second-round technical knockout (punches).

Arjan Bhullar has allayed concerns about not being in fighting shape, saying he’s kept busy in the gym, working on his game and conditioning, during his extended break.

Awaiting ‘Singh’ Bhullar at ONE Friday Fights 22 is Anatoly Malykhin, who is undefeated in four fights in as many matches in the ONE Championship.

His last two victories brought him tournament gear – the interim world heavyweight title against Belarusian Kirill Grishchenko in February 2022 and the light heavyweight gold against Dutchman Reynier de Ridder last December.
