“Literally all sucked except Big E”

Fans are unhappy with WWE’s picks for four of the last five men’s Money in the Bank briefcase winners.

The last five winners of the MITB Men’s Championship are Braun Strowman, Brock Lesnar, Otis, Big E, and Austin Theory. Strowman’s cash deposit ended with no contest, while Lesnar didn’t need to win. Otis lost his briefcase to The Miz, who ended up winning the WWE Championship but his reign lasted only eight days.

Big E successfully capitalized on Bobby Lashley, who was at the top of his game at the time. Theory used his bag at the US Championships and failed. So it’s kind of true that the MITB winners haven’t worked as well as they used to in the past.

No matter how things turned out and with the Money in the Bank event less than two weeks away, WWE on Fox asked fans which Men’s MITB winner was their favorite from 2018 to 2022.

Many are upset with the choices, with one fan describing Big E as the only successful one out of the five winners:

“Literally all of them suck except Big E.”

Another fan agreed:

“What an awesome list. Only BIG E was the right choice.”

@tweet What an awesome list. BIG E was just the right choice

However, one fan went so far with an extremely unpopular opinion about the Money in the Bank briefcase:

“Money in the Bank has lost its credibility lately,” the fan wrote. “It’s a game-changer when used correctly for both entertainment and TV ratings. The extra money doesn’t make much sense lately and there isn’t a lot of excitement about cashing in. The only good money out there is Big E.”

@employee Unpopular opinion: Recently discredited, Money in the Bank is a game-changer when used correctly for both entertainment and TV ratings. Among these is the Big-E one.

Some loved Lesnar winning because “Boombox” Brock was born.

@tweet Let’s be real Otis’s reach for the briefcase was in vain but when he won it it was the most famous he didn’t need it because he could have defeated Seth without it but Brock’s boombox was so good

Others skipped the question and predicted LA Knight would win the Men’s MITB Bag of the Year.

@tweet Big E & Braun Strowman are the only valid winners on this list. 2023 will have another with LA Knight.

And there is one Logan Paul fan who has bold expectations.

@tweet Logan Paul would join that list

The Money in the Bank event takes place on July 1st at The O2 Arena in London, England. This is WWE’s first major event in London since Insurrextion in May 2002 and the first across the pond since Clash at Castle last year in Cardiff, Wales.

Who will win the “Men’s Money in the Bank” bag this year?

This year’s men’s Money in the Bank ladder match will feature six WWE Superstars from Raw and SmackDown. Ricochet, Shinsuke Nakamura, and Damian Priest will represent the brand red, while L.A. Knight, Santos Escobar, and Butch will be featured for the blue brand.

According to the latest odds across Addict Wrestling, Fares and Kahn are the two candidates to win the bag. Nakamura is in third place followed by Santos Escobar, while Ricochet and Butch have the worst odds.

While only two of the last five MITB winners have had cash successes, Triple H at WWE’s creative helm could change that. Knight and Priest, and even Nakamura, are veterans who deserve a nice nudge at this point in their careers.
