A civilian official said the incident occurred in Suite C of the Trade World building in the Kamala Mills complex which houses several corporate offices in Lower Parel at around 10.45 am.

Eight people, including three women, were injured after a crane snapped and fell from the fourth floor of a 16-storey building in a mall here on Wednesday, officials said.

They said all the injured are in stable condition. A civil official said the incident occurred in Suite C of the Trade World building in the Kamala Mills complex which houses several corporate offices in Lower Parel at around 10.45 am.

At least 12-14 people were on the elevator at that time. He added that the building’s security personnel rescued those inside the elevator, which had crashed in the basement, and transferred the injured to nearby hospitals. Of the eight injured, seven have been taken to a private hospital in Parel, while one person is being treated at the government-run “Kim” hospital in the district. The official said four others with minor bruises refused hospitalization.
