US First Lady Jill Biden hosted a preview before the state dinner on Thursday as part of Modi’s state visit to the US.

In anticipation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit, the White House on Wednesday unveiled impressive dishes in a media preview, showcasing an intriguing flavor combination that included recipes made with millet grain.

US First Lady Jill Biden hosted a pre-state dinner Thursday as part of Modi’s state visit to the US, in the dining room of the White House in Washington.

The culinary talents of Guest Chef Nina Curtis, White House Executive Chef Chris Comerford, and White House Executive Pastry Chef Susie Morrison have come together to create an impressive menu for state dinner.

According to news agency ANI, signature dishes include a luscious combination of flavors, including lemon-dill yogurt dressing, crispy millet cake, summer squash, spiced millet, and grilled corn kernel salad.

Other dishes include pressed watermelon, tangy avocado vinaigrette, stuffed portobello mushrooms, creamy saffron risotto, and rose and strawberry cardamom infused.

Jill Biden said she is giving details of the state dinner. Prime Minister Modi will have the opportunity to hear from one of our nation’s amazing talents – Grammy Award winner Joshua Bell.

“His performance will be followed by Penn Masala – a South Asian a cappella group from the University of Pennsylvania that brings a little bit of my hometown to the White House along with songs inspired by the sounds of India..” said by ANI.

Moody arrived at Joint Base Andrews in Washington, D.C. where he was given a guard of honor in a continuous rain.

He arrived here from New York where he led a historic event at the United Nations Headquarters earlier today to celebrate the 9th International Day of Yoga, attended by UN officials, diplomats and dignitaries.

On the Washington leg of the visit, the prime minister will hold bilateral talks with President Joe Biden and address a joint session of the US Congress.

Earlier on Wednesday, Jill Biden joined the prime minister during their visit to the National Science Foundation in Virginia, where she highlighted his commitment to education and emphasized its role in strengthening bilateral relations between India and the United States.

Modi visited the US federal agency that supports science and engineering, shortly after arriving in Washington on the second leg of his first state visit to the country.

The First Lady and Prime Minister Modi also met with students from India and the United States who are learning the skills needed to succeed in industries vital to their economies.
