Final Fantasy 16 offers action-packed combat against a wide variety of bosses. One of the bosses players will encounter throughout the campaign is Morbol – a plant-like creature with a fearsome set of teeth. How to defeat Morbol easily in Final Fantasy 16
The Morbol is a recurring enemy in the Final Fantasy series, first appearing in Final Fantasy XVI’s swamps in Stillwood. Young Cliff Rosefield is tasked with dealing with orcs infesting the area and is ambushed by Morpole. The boss battle begins shortly after the scene ends.
Players can refer to the following strategy and tips to beat the opponent easily:
1. Morbol is a rather slow enemy but can be quite deadly when at close range.
2. Avoid taking damage by timing your shuffles precisely.
3. Morbol can also use multi-stage attacks, so be sure to hit that dodge button a few times.
4. Regular SPAM and charged attacks in each slot to slowly reduce its health bar.
5. Make sure to use Charged Magic attacks against Morbol when not in range of melee attacks.
6. Beware of the “bad breath” attack. Taking damage from this attack will also stun Clive for a few seconds – leaving him vulnerable to follow-up attacks.
7. Continue to assault until Morpole staggers.
8. Deal as much damage quickly as possible when Morpole staggers. Spam your phoenix abilities – especially the Rising Flame during this phase to deflect a large amount of damage.
9. The second stage of combat begins once Morbol has fallen to half health.
10. Morbol becomes somewhat more aggressive after this point, using a series of melee attacks. Stay away from it to avoid getting hurt.
11. After a certain point, Morbol will head underwater and reappear to start sucking in Clive.
12. A cinematic will be shown soon, and players will be tasked with pressing the R1 button to dodge this attack. Successfully completing a cinematic hit will trigger a Morbol, leaving it open to continuous damage.
13. Don’t be shy about using potions to restore HP when needed. In addition, use the power-up to temporarily increase your damage output.
14. Rinse and repeat the process to defeat Morbol.
The battle ends with a rather long cutscene that leads to certain events in the Phoenix Gate, making up Final Fantasy 16’s campaign.
