Three people were injured in a suspected explosive device explosion in Bishnupur district of Manipur on Wednesday night.
According to a defense source, a Scorpio car parked in Kwakta, located in Bishnupur district, exploded at around 7:15 pm in what was likely to be an explosive device explosion.
Bystanders reported seeing a driver leaving the car before the explosion, with no one inside.
Three injured in the accident were shifted to Bishnupur district hospital.
There were also shooting incidents near midnight on Tuesday near Sogno, while there was a new shooting in the Kangbokbe district on Wednesday evening.
These incidents continue to occur 50 days after the violence began in the state on May 3, even as internet services continue to be suspended.
The incident came hours before the Ministry of Interior announced the Federal Minister of Interior Amit Shah will hold an all-party meeting on June 24 In New Delhi to discuss the situation in the state, which is wracked by ethnic clashes
That has claimed more than 110 lives and hardened ethnic divisions.
In a tweet on Wednesday night, the Home Ministry spokesperson said, “Union Home Minister Shri @AmitShah convened an all-party meeting on June 24 at 3pm in New Delhi to discuss the situation in Manipur.”
