Manchester United are reported to be offering serious competition with Bundesliga clubs Bayer Leverkusen and Eintracht Frankfurt for Leeds United defender Robin Koch.

German website Kicker reports that the Red Devils are among the clubs working intensively on a possible deal for Koch. The Germany international could be available for free following Leeds’ relegation this season.

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag is expected to bolster his defense this summer. There are question marks over Harry Maguire’s future with Newcastle United interested.

So Tin Hag could turn his eyes to Koch, 26, who had been one of the Peacocks’ best performances in a dismal campaign. The defender has made 39 appearances across competitions, helping his side keep five clean sheets.

However, Bundesliga club Leverkusen is also interested in the German, who has eight caps to his name. Jonathan Tah has told Xabi Alonso’s team that he wants to leave BayArena this summer.

Meanwhile, Frankfurt are also considering a move for Koch as they look to replace Ivan Ndyka. The 23-year-old joined Italian club Roma after his contract expired.

Coach arrived in England with Leeds in 2020 from Freiburg for 13 million euros. He was signed in the midst of Ben White’s return to Brighton & Hove Albion after a successful loan spell at Elland Road.

The German participated in 77 matches with the Peacocks. However, the Midlands side’s relegation meant the defender’s departure was expected.

Dortmund is said to be one of the clubs considering a move for Hannibal. They are ready to pay around 15 million euros to lure him to Signal Iduna Park.

The young Manchester United player has failed to make a consistent move into the first team at Old Trafford. He has only made three appearances for United’s first team so far.

Ten Hag has reportedly made it clear that he has high standards for young talent and those who do not reach the required level will be sold. He has already allowed Zidane Iqbal to join Eredivisie FC Utrecht for around €1 million.
