When people were dying, Aaditya and friends were looting Mumbai: Shiv Sena

Shiv Sena’s secretary and spokesperson Kiran Bawaskar criticized Sena (UBT) for claiming that the ED procedure in Covid Jumbo Center tray It was a tactic by the government to silence them before the 1 July protest march.

Bawaskar said the opposition has brazenly looted BMC for 24 years, which is why people also support this investigation. For 24 years, they’ve only ransacked BMC. Although they have been in power for so long, the city’s infrastructure has continued to deteriorate. Even during covid, when people were dying and struggling to buy medicine, they were shamelessly making money off the dead.”

Now they describe the investigation as a political vendetta. So no one asks you? The July 1st protests are a propaganda gimmick and an eyewash, he added. “July 1st is a Sabbath. So who will they submit their memorandum to? BMC guard? Bawasker said.

Talking about the ED’s raids on government officials and aides of Aditya Thackeray and Sanjay Raut, Sena’s secretary said investigations and raids have been delayed, but so far if the investigation is conducted properly, it will lead to the ‘mastermind’ of the scams – Aditya Thackeray. “Who is Suraj Chavan? When he wasn’t even eligible to pay income tax for so many years, how did he accumulate all this wealth? Who was he collecting money for? When ED investigates all these things, it will lead them to Aditya Thackeray,” said Bawaskar in remarks to Uddhav. Thackeray alleging BMC fixed deposits were broken Pawaskar said the money is being used to give Mumbai the development it deserves.”We are using the money to build quality roads. What did they do? Contracts awarded to Sujit Patkar to set up the Jumbo Covid Center – but what are its credentials? Just because he’s Sanjay Raut’s boyfriend? Why should such arbitrary decisions not be questioned? Bawasker said.

On BMC’s demolition of the ‘illegal’ Sena Shakha in Bandra East, Bawaskar said all kinds of illegal activities are being run from there. During the building’s demolition, there were only a few people present, in contrast to the power wielded by the shakha when Balasaheb was around. “This is the reality of their party today,” said Pawaskar.

Bawaskar has suffered greatly from BMC, saying that they have turned people away during the crisis. “During the pandemic, BMC paid 6,719 rupees for a body bag, which is usually available at around 800 rupees. Even in the USA, bags were obtained at a price of 51 USD, which is roughly 3,900 rupees. BMC also got remdesivir doses at a price of 1, 568 rupees per vial, however, the Haffkine Institute raised the bill by 665 rupees per vial. They also charged an additional 207 rupees for PPE kits, of which up to 5,000 were purchased per day.

“This is the level they have descended to. They were fattening up their bank accounts when people were distraught over the lack of basic facilities and services. They are a gang operating under the guise of a political party, and they accuse us of abusing agencies. I urge the central authorities to severely punish those found guilty.”

Notably, in October 2022, the Chief Minister and Shiv Sena Chairman Eknath Shinde ordered a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate financial irregularities of BMC estimated at around Rs 12,024 crore between 28 November 2019 and 28 February 2022. Mumbai Police Commissioner Vivek will chair Vansalkar investigated the SIT, along with Economic Crimes Wing (EOW) Joint Commissioner of Police Nishit Mishra among other senior police officers.
