As opposition leaders gathered in Patna on Friday, the BJP Delhi emboldened the chief minister and the League’s organizer, Arvind Kejriwal, to come out against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

“You think you are more popular than Narendra Modi ji and Modi ji is afraid of you so announce in Patna today that you will contest Lok Sabha election again in 2024 against Modi ji from Varanasi. Have courage,” tweeted BJP Delhi spokesperson Harish Khurana, Adding that it was Kejriwal who was afraid of Modi.

Khurana was taking exception to an AAP tweet stating that the Chief Minister was afraid of the Delhi Chief Minister’s growing popularity.

“This is the language used by AAP agents and Arvind Kejriwal,” Khurana said, quoting an AAP tweet that said “Kejriwal ki badti lokpriyata se dara Modi,” questioning the center’s appointment of the head of the Delhi Electricity Regulatory Authority (DERC) late in the day. Wed pm.

While Khurana’s comment was consistent with several statements that the BJP leadership in Delhi had recently questioned, seeking to undermine attempts to form a united opposition front against the BJP, Congress leaders from the city sought to stress that Friday’s meeting “goes beyond considerations of local politics.”

The AAP claimed, the day before, that a deal had been struck between the BJP and the Congress whereby the latter would withdraw from the Rajya Sabha when the decree giving sweeping powers to the Delhi governor was put to the vote. Elected government, putting bureaucrats on ministers.

Responding to questions about whether her party leaders will withdraw from the opposition meeting in Patna on Friday, AAP spokesperson Priyanka Kakkar said, “I have no information about this. Our senior leaders will attend the meeting and it will be their decision. But reliable sources have told us that there is an agreement between the BJP Congress and when this unconstitutional decree is introduced in the Rajya Sabha, the Congress will withdraw.”

I don’t understand why Congress takes so long to take a position on an ordinance that is clearly unconstitutional. “They should make their position clear,” she added.

In response to Kakkar, a senior Delhi conference leader accused the AAP of “peddling propaganda” in relation to the opposition meeting.

“The AAP needs to understand that the meeting is about the larger issue of the Lok Sabha elections and not just a platform for them to abuse their selfish politics,” said the leader.

The leader added, “In terms of complicity, it is the AAP that has mingled with the BJP as it has always supported the BJP’s agenda when the matter reached critical junctures.”
