Union Minister for Education, Skills Development and Entrepreneurship Dharmendra Pradhan on Thursday inaugurating the ‘Innovation, Development and Entrepreneurship Boot Camps’ at the College of Engineering Pune (COEP) said that English is not a prerequisite for technological innovation. university.
“To find talent in India, you don’t need to be an English speaker,” said the union minister, citing the example of tech giants like China, Japan, Germany and Italy. “It is not that they cannot speak English. They simply prefer not to,” said the Minister, addressing the participants and faculty at the training camps being organized in six different cities in the country.
“Most of children’s mental development occurs between the ages of three and eight, and most children in our country speak their native languages during this time,” said Pradhan.
During his virtual interaction with the students in the other five venues, Pradhan greeted the students in Odia and Bengali and listened to their innovations and technological projects. “Be job seekers but dare to be job creators too,” said the minister, emphasizing enterprise and innovation as well as critical thinking.
