San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich shared his excitement after the team drafted Victor Wimpanyama with the first draft pick on Thursday.

When asked what he thought of the selection, Popovich answered in the most hilarious way possible.

Bob said he was happy to have coached someone like Wimpanyama in the past. For next season, he will get the chance to do so. The Hall of Famed coach is known for coaching some of the best players in the league and has had success doing so.

Popovich spoke of wanting to do somersaults after making the selection.

“I am so excited,” Popovich said. “You don’t want me to jump up and down, do you? Put on a show? I’ll do somersaults, but I’ll be out for three months.”

Pop about training Victor Wimbanyama: “I’m so excited. You don’t want me to jump up and down, do you? Put on a show? I was going to do somersaults, but I’m going to be out for three months.”

Considering his age, it hurts to see him struggle and try somersaults. Good thing Popovich knows his limits.

Tony Parker has a message for Victor Wimpanyama

Victor Wimpanyama has the full support of some former Tottenham greats as he works his way up the league. Before Gregg Popovich shares his reaction to the team selection, it’s Tony Parker’s turn to talk about the team’s future with Wimpy. He congratulated the French player and asked him to return the championship.

“Victor, he just wanted to send you a message,” Parker said. “I just wanted to say congratulations.” “I’m too hapopy for you.”

“I knew you wanted to go to San Antonio, you wanted to play for Spurs, and now this will happen. I hope you change basketball for the better. And that you will live up to all these expectations.”

“Your agent showed me a crazy video, the morning of your draft. You said you knew you were going to Spurs. And now it’s happening. Now, it’s your turn to bring us a championship.”

Wimpy played for Parker’s team in France, Asvel, in the 2021-22 season. Since then, he has been linked with Tottenham Hotspur and has been on the organisation’s radar. Parker won four titles for San Antonio during his time in the NBA. He won the Finals MVP award in 2007 against LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers.
