The Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) on Thursday sought further detention of three alleged key members of the Islamic State Khorasan Province (ISKP), a proscribed terrorist group, who have now been given ATS custody until July 1.
An ATS official said the three who will continue to be detained are Obaid Nasir Mir (22), Soumrabin Malik (34) and Zubair Ahmed Manshi (30) – who have been identified as the main defendants in the case. According to ATS, Munshi was involved in conducting ISKP unit meetings in Kashmir and was also in touch with the handlers.
The official added, āWe believe that these three (Abeed, Zubair and Soumrabin) are the main suspects and they have not revealed the whole story yet. After their arrest, it seems that their handlers have disappeared from social media and other places.ā

Gujarat ATS picked her up from Porbandar railway station and arrested on 9 June, while Somrabin was picked up from her home in Surat and arrested on 10 June. According to the ATS, the four exposed Abu Hamza as their handler who had radicalized them.
An offense was registered at the ATS Police Station on June 9 for offenses under UAPA and criminal conspiracy under IPC.
The five, who were said to be planning to go to Afghanistan from India, planned terrorist attacks in Khorasan. The five were granted custody of the ATS until June 22 by the Porbandar court.
