Prominent Indian and American figures from business, technology, fashion and entertainment appeared at the White House dinner in honor of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in an event aimed at strengthening cultural ties and celebrating the enduring friendship between the two countries.

After addressing the Joint Session of the US Congress, Prime Minister Modi arrived at the White House to a warm welcome from President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden.

Notable guests included personalities and celebrities such as designer Ralph Lauren and tennis legend Billie Jean King, as well as technology pioneers including Sundar Pichai and his wife Anjali Pichai.

Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani and his wife, Nita Ambani, along with Mahindra Group chairman Anand Mahindra and co-founder of Zerodha Nikhil Kamath were among the top Indian businessmen who attended the state dinner.

The United Nations declared 2023 the International Year of Millet, recognizing its importance in meeting nutritional needs and boosting global demand.

The campaign launched by the Indian government, led by Prime Minister Modi himself, aims to meet the dietary requirements of millions of people across the world.

Millet is good for farmers and environmentally friendly. They are energy intensive, have lower water requirements, and are easy to grow in arid soils.

Crispy, spiced millet cakes were included in the preview by US First Lady Jill Biden in the White House dining room before Prime Minister Modi’s dinner.

The culinary talents of Guest Chef Nina Curtis, White House Executive Chef Chris Comerford, and White House Executive Pastry Chef Susie Morrison have come together to create an impressive menu for state dinner.

According to news agency ANI, the impressive dishes also include a great combination of flavors, including lemon-dill yogurt dressing, summer squash, and grilled cornstarch salad.

Other dishes include pressed watermelon, tangy avocado vinaigrette, stuffed portobello mushrooms, creamy saffron risotto, and rose and strawberry cardamom infused.
