Paris Saint-Germain striker Kylian Mbappe sent a warm message to his compatriot and NBA star Victor Wimpanyama. The teen star was selected by the San Antonio Spurs as the first pick in the 2023 NBA Draft.

Taking to Twitter, the PSG star wrote:

“WEMBY. THE STORY BEGINS NOW.”

WEMBY 🇫🇷🏀👏🏽🏅 … The story begins now.

Wembanyama is considered one of the greatest prospects to enter the NBA draft in the history of the league. At 7’5″, the 19-year-old displayed amazing skills that made him a recognized star even before he entered the league.

On the set, he told ESPN’s Andrew Lopez:

“It accomplishes something I’ve dreamed of my whole life. Hearing that sentence from Adam Silver I dream about it so much, I gotta cry.”

Wimpanyama joins a San Antonio Spurs team that has a great legacy of French players, including the likes of Tony Parker and Boris Diaw, who helped the team win championships.

The couple was seen bonding in May around the NBA Draft Lottery. Mbappe attended Wimbanyama’s last match of the regular season with Paris-based Boulogne-Levalois.

Lionel Messi sends a message to Kylian Mbappe regarding an uncertain future in Paris Saint-Germain

Messi has reportedly asked Mbappe to leave the Ligue 1 team.

Lionel Messi asked Kylian Mbappe to leave Paris Saint-Germain and join Barcelona or Real Madrid. According to the Spanish website Defensa Central, the Argentine star believes that the French striker deserves a better project, and therefore he must leave.

He said:

“I would prefer you to go to Barcelona but if you want to go to Madrid, do it, you deserve a really successful project.”

Messi himself left the Ligue 1 club this summer, and shocked the world when he decided to go to MLS Inter Miami. He experienced a rocky relationship with the club’s fans towards the end of his tenure, being booed in matches after their Champions League elimination.

On the other hand, Mbappe made it clear that he did not wish to extend his stay. L’Equipe had previously reported that the 24-year-old had no intention of triggering a clause that would extend his contract by another year, making him a free agent in the summer of 2024.

Real Madrid are known to be in the market for a quality striker. They have just lost club legend Karim Benzema to the Saudi Professional Federation. The arrival of Joselu from Espanyol on loan has boosted the attack but he is believed to be a back-up option.
