22-year-old star linked with Bayern Munich move has verbal agreement with Arsenal

Arsenal are said to be close to signing Ajax defender Jorin Timber. Sky Sports Germany’s Florian Plettenberg reports that Arsenal are close to finalizing a deal for the Dutch player. Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich have been described as a potential suitor but they are not engaged at this point.
Timber wants to join Arsenal, and a verbal agreement has been finalised. All that awaits him is a second offer from Mikel Arteta for €40-45m plus add-ons that are believed to be acceptable to both clubs.
The Ajax defender was in great shape last season. He has appeared 47 times in various competitions, helping his team keep 15 clean sheets. The Dutch international also scored two goals and provided the most assists.
Timber is the defender file that Arteta desires, because he is comfortable with the ball. His shares in the Eredivisie have grown, and he now looks set to fulfill his “dream” of moving to Arsenal. The Dutch international has been the subject of interest from Bayern Munich but has set his heart on Arsenal.
The 22-year-old has two years remaining on his contract with Ajax but admitted in April that a move was on the horizon, telling Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf:
“The transfer is getting closer and closer, so to speak. There is a lot of concrete interest, and agreements have been made with Ajax.
“Last year Ajax asked me to stay for at least one more season and extend my contract. As a club player, I did it with love, and after the season, we will review the situation.”
Arsenal will have to work through this transfer window after finishing second in the league last season. North Londoners are also pursuing West Ham United captain Declan Rice. It is clear that Arteta is looking forward to another challenge for the title next season.
Folarin Balogun, Arsenal player, is wanted by West Ham United
While Rice could head to Arsenal this summer, the Hammers want to lure Folarin Balogun to the London Stadium.
According to Football Transfers, the Hammers have made Balogun a priority for signing this summer. The young striker spent last season on loan in Ligue 1 with Stade Reims.
The 21-year-old’s future is unclear, as he has not been given any guarantees about his playing time next season. He impressed at Reims, scoring 21 goals in 37 league matches. He finished fourth in the all-time scoring lists.
West Ham boss David Moyes has identified the need for a new striker at the London Stadium. It appears that Gianluca Scamaka will return to Serie A, with only two years remaining on his contract with the Emirates. It remains to be seen if Arsenal are willing to sell him.
