Pune city police on Friday arrested a defense job student from Uttar Pradesh who had appointed a fake candidate to write a test conducted by the Frontier Roads Organization (BRO) on his behalf at a BRO school and center in Dhanuri, officials said.
Police identified the accused as Pushbindra Kumar Kisanlal, 22, a resident of Hathras district.
This is the Fourth such disclosed Since March, all cases have been filed at Vishrantwadi Police Station. With the latter case, the total number of arrests has reached seven.
According to the police, the BRO officials discovered the offense when Kisanlal came to the Poona station on Friday morning to check the documents. Investigators said they found that his face did not match the photos of the admission card he had used in earlier tests.
BRO, upon checking, found that a person by the name of ‘Pushpendra Kumar Kisanlal’ had already appeared for the written and physical examinations a few days ago for the position of ‘Group C’. Deputy Inspector of Police Nitin Rathod, the investigating officer, said the FBI had concluded that a fake candidate appeared in Kisnelal’s place for the exams.
On complaint from BRO, Kisanlal is booked for cheating. The unidentified dummy candidate who had taken the exams on behalf of Kisanlal was also booked by the police.
Earlier this month, the police arrested Another native of Uttar Pradesh, Anerjay Yadav, 21, who assigned a mock candidate to write an exam in a BRO school and centre. Last month, the police arrested two persons from UP and one from Haryana in connection with impersonation during a written test conducted for the job of ‘Multi-Skilled Laborer and Driller’ at a BRO School and Centre. In March, police arrested two people, one of whom was a bogus candidate taking a written exam for the position of “chef” at the Defense Department’s GREF Center Frontier Roads Organization.
