Citing non-compliance with fire safety standards and absence of registration under the UP Training Regulation Act 2005, the Inspector of Gautam Buddha Nagar Schools (DIOS) on Thursday issued an order to close 10 training institutes in Noida and Greater Noida.

Earlier, the department directed 54 training institutes, including these 10, to follow firefighting standards in addition to the UP Training Code.

The action was taken against the background of the fire that broke out on June 15 in a building in Mukherjee Nagar in Delhi, which houses several training centres.

“If someone wants to run a training centre, they are free to do so. But don’t risk the lives of the students. In the event of a mishap, who will be responsible? We saw what happened in Mukherjee Nagar. We saw what happened in Mukherjee Nagar. Dr. Dharmveer Singh, Deos, Gautam Buddha Nagar, said,” We do not want such incidents to happen again.”

He added that if the training centers obtain the required fire safety approvals and registration, they will be able to continue operations. We have sent a letter to 54 training institutes, instructing them to obtain fire safety approval and registration. Some of them sought an extension to complete these procedures, but these ten institutes did not respond. “We are conducting a campaign and identifying these offenders through various sources,” Singh said.

The list includes notable names like Time Training

at Alfa-1, Greater Noida; PhysicsWallah in Sector 62, Noida; Allen Institute in Sector 62, Noida; and Narayana Coaching in Sector 62, Noida.

The department on Friday also issued a notice to 12 new training centers in Noida sector 62 to obtain the required approvals by June 26. “Under the provisions of the Uttar Pradesh Training Act, 2005, it is necessary to register before operating the training centre. Also, before registration, it is necessary to obtain a Fire Safety Certificate from the Fire Department…”, the order issued by DIOS reads.

She further stated: “On June 15, the District Magistrate’s Office also issued an order to crack down on those who do not have these approvals. You (the training centers) are illegally operating training institutes without fire safety standards and registration. You have been directed to obtain these approvals in the specified time, otherwise the training center will be closed with a fine.”
