Paris Saint-Germain defender Achraf Hakimi’s agent insists the Moroccan will stay with the Ligue 1 giants despite interest from Manchester City.

According to Marca, City are keen to sign Hakimi and are willing to pay a huge fee to lure him to Al Ittihad. Treble winner manager Pep Guardiola is looking to replace Joao Cancelo, who is available for sale this summer.

However, Hakimi’s agent Alejandro Camano told Diario AS that the 24-year-old is focused on the project at Parc des Princes. He said:

“Paris is 100% on his mind, it is our project. (Louis) Campos (Paris Saint-Germain consultant) has all my respect and all my confidence in the future. I think he will turn things around, and from there we will see what the future holds for Ashraf.”

Hakimi shone with Paris Saint-Germain last season, scoring five goals and providing six assists. His team went on to win the Ligue 1 title, but it was a frustrating campaign for the Parisians.

The French giants were knocked out of the UEFA Champions League at the Round of 16 after a 3-0 aggregate defeat against Bayern Munich. They were also knocked out of the French Cup in the round of 16 after losing 2-1 to Marseille.

The Moroccan defender has three years remaining on his contract at the Princes Park. However, a move to Manchester City does not seem to be in his sights despite interest from the Premier League giants.

Paris Saint-Germain has set its sights on Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva, but they could suffer defeat against his signature by Saudi Professional League giants Al-Hilal.

BBC Sport reports that Al-Za’eem They made Silva a target as they continued to attract European talent to the Middle East. They have just signed fellow Portuguese player Ruben Neves from Wolverhampton Wanderers for €55m.

However, Manchester City want to keep Silva and are trying to convince him to sign a new contract. His current deal expires in two years and he is considering leaving.

The 28-year-old was outstanding this past season as City went on to win the continental treble. Scored seven goals and provided eight assists in 55 appearances across competitions.

It remains to be seen if Silva will be open to leaving Europe. Barcelona is also challenging PSG for his signature. The Portuguese playmaker has been with the federation since 2017 and has been a mainstay in Guardiola’s squad ever since.
