Manchester City is said to be keen on signing Fulham defender Anthony Robinson in the current summer transfer window.
Robinson, 25, has proven to be an important first-team player for Fulham since arriving from Wigan Athletic for over £2m in 2020. He has helped them lift the EFL Championship trophy so far.
A left-back with pace and endurance, the 36-cap USA international shone with his performances last season. He helped his team finish 10th in the Premier League table, starting 35 games.
According to the evening standardManchester City has shown interest in snapping up Robinson in the current summer transfer window. Marco Silva’s team is ready to sell his player for 35 million pounds.
However, Pep Guardiola’s side are likely to face competition from Premier League rivals Newcastle United over signing Robinson this summer. They are also expected to battle it out with Marseille and Milan in the coming months.
Robinson, who is in the final 12 months of his contract, could be a shrewd signing for the Cityzens if he joins them. He can provide strong competition to Nathan Ake and Sergio Gomez at left-back.
On the other hand, if the American can move permanently to the Magpies soon, he will emerge as a regular starter for them. He will likely replace Dan Byrne from Eddie Howe’s plans.
To date, the Manchester City-linked left-back has scored three goals and contributed five assists in 107 appearances in all competitions for Fulham.
Jack Grealish lashes out at his critics after celebrating his hat-trick for Manchester City
Earlier this month, Jack Grealish was spotted flexing for three days to celebrate Manchester City’s treble win. Images of Grealish indulging in alcoholic beverages while on top of the show bus drew criticism from fans and critics alike.
When asked for his opinion on the recent criticism of his celebration, Grealish decided to stand his ground and defend his actions. Tell TalkSPORT:
“I did a once-in-a-lifetime thing. Last time it was achieved, well… I don’t know when Manchester United did it, but it hasn’t been done for ages. So why don’t we celebrate like that?”
Grealish has also stated that he has been with the City team the whole time. He said:
“I wasn’t alone, going out with friends, you know? I was with the whole Manchester City team. We enjoyed ourselves on Saturdays, Sundays, Mondays…the best weekend of my life. I had just won the Champions League and I was really emotional over those three days. Honestly, I was probably in an emotional high ever.”
Grealish has scored 11 goals and provided 15 assists in 89 matches with City so far.
