Union Home Minister Amit Shah met the family members of the slain police personnel on the second day of his two-day visit to the Union Territory at the police golf course overlooking the famous Dal Lake in Srinagar.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday distributed letters of appointment to the relatives of eight Jammu and Kashmir Police personnel who lost their lives in the line of duty, officials here said.
They said Shah met family members of the dead policemen on the second day of his two-day visit to the Union Territory at the police golf course overlooking the famous Dal Lake in Srinagar.
“The martyrdom of many Javans from @JmuKmrPolice who sacrificed their lives fighting terrorists and securing innocent citizens is a testament to what Kashmir and its people stand for,” he said on Twitter.
“Today he met the family members of these martyrs in Srinagar and distributed letters of appointment on behalf of the J&K government to the next of kin of the martyrs,” Shah added.
