Pune Police has arrested a 22-year-old man for cheating as he assigned another man to write his exam for Group C position at the Border Roads Organization (BRO) School and Center in Danuri district. This is the fourth case of its kind that has been detected since March this year.

Police identified the accused as Pushbindra Kumar Kisanlal, a resident of Sadabad in Hathras district of Uttar Pradesh. An official of the BRO office filed a complaint against the accused at Vishrantwadi Police Station.

Police said an individual who identified himself as Pushpendra Kumar Kisnell appeared in the written and physical examination for ‘Group C’ post conducted by the BRO a few days ago. When Kisanlal came to the BRO office in Pune on Friday morning to check the documents, the BRO officials found that his face did not match the photos on his admission pass which was used to appear in the tests conducted earlier.

Sub-Inspector Nitin Rathod, the investigating officer in the case, said that while checking, BRO officials found that a fake candidate appeared in Kisanlal’s place for the exams. After the complaint made by the BRO official, the police registered an FIR against Kisanlal and booked him under sections 419 (personal fraud) and 420 (fraud) of the IPC.

The unidentified dummy candidate, who appeared in the BRO exams at Kisnell’s place, was also booked by the police.
Earlier this month, 21-year-old Anerjay Yadav, a resident of Firozabad, Uttar Pradesh, was arrested by police who asked another person to appear in his place for the Group C exam at a BRO school and centre.

Last month, the police arrested two people from UP and one from Haryana in connection with fake candidates taking a written exam conducted for the position of ‘Multi-Skilled Laborer and Backhoe’ at a BRO School and Centre. In March, police arrested two people, one of whom was sitting as a bogus candidate taking a written exam for the position of “chef” at the Defense Department’s GREF Center Frontier Roads Organization.
