“On the evening of June 22, a speeding blue government vehicle ran over a man who was crossing the road,” Amroha Police Superintendent Aditya Langih said.
A man died in Amroha in Uttar Pradesh after he was hit by a government vehicle allegedly belonging to an additional SP officer from Bareilly district of Amroha in UP on Thursday night. Based on CCTV footage of the incident, the police registered a case against an “unidentified” government vehicle.
The accident occurred near the village of Masoodpur Nawada on the Joya-Amroha road, when the victim, 42-year-old Murad Ali, was on his way home from work.
In the CCTV footage of the area, it can be seen that a blue SUV hit Ali and fled the scene without stopping to check on him. Ali later died of his injuries in hospital. Ali was reportedly survived by his wife and five children – three sons and two unmarried daughters.

Ali’s autopsy report revealed that he had suffered a head injury, broken ribs and punctured lungs, which led to his death.
A senior police officer in Amrouha said the car belonged to an additional SP from Bareilly district Times of India.
After Ali’s death, his family members and relatives made a commotion on the Joya-Amroha road. To de-escalate the situation, senior officials with a force of three police stations arrived at the site.
The police worked to calm the situation and reassured the angry family that they would file a case against an unknown person. Amrouha Police registered a case against the unidentified government vehicle based on CCTV footage.

The dead man’s brother said that the name of the young man who lost his life was Murad Ali. He is from the village of Al-Atrasi.”
The driver and vehicle have not yet been identified.
