Parts of Gujarat have been hit by heavy rains over the past week as a result of the depression and remnants of Cyclone Pebarjoy, which has led to a flood-like situation in many villages of the state.
Several students of a private college have been rescued after their bus got stuck in a side lane due to heavy rains in Nadiad district of Kheda district of Gujarat, saturating it with water.
Visuals released by the news agency ANI show local residents rushing to the site and helping the students, mostly girls, escape from the car as it is stuck in the side lane due to heavy waterlogging.

An official from the district administration said several villages in Dhanira Taluka in Banaskantha were affected due to a flood-like situation there.
Last week, Banaskantha’s Danta Taluka received 126mm of rain in the past 24 hours, followed by 86mm at Amirgad (Banaskantha), 82mm at Khedbrahma (Saparkantha), 74mm at Vijaynagar (Saparkantha), 69mm at Pushina (Saparkantha). ). and 37 mm in the Vadali taluka from Sabarkantha.
Meanwhile, a monsoon lashed parts of Odisha on Thursday, due to which heavy rains are likely to fall in the state for the next four to five days, the meteorological office said.
The southwest monsoon has covered parts of Malkangiri, Koraput and Gajapati districts, and conditions are favorable for further progress over the next two days.
On the other hand, the southwest monsoon is likely to hit Madhya Pradesh over the weekend, even with 18 districts recording more than 1.5 inches of pre-monsoon rain in just 12 hours ending at 8.30pm on Friday.
Over the past two days, parts of MP have been falling intermittently, giving relief to people from the sweltering heat.
