WASHINGTON: President Joe Biden said the friendship between the United States and India was among the most important in the world as the two countries signed several major deals to further strengthen their strategic technology partnership during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s historic state visit.
In response to Biden’s remarks, Prime Minister Modi said that the friendship between India and the United States is a force for the global good and will make the planet a better and more sustainable one.
The friendship between the United States and India is among the most important in the world. Stronger, closer and more dynamic than ever, US President Biden said in a tweet on Sunday.
Biden hosted Modi for a three-day state visit that included a 7,000-person welcome party on the White House’s southern lawns, a state dinner attended by about 500 people, and a roundtable with the chief tech companies, entrepreneurs, officials and CEOs.
Modi said, pointing to Biden’s tweet Twitter“I totally agree with you, POTUSJoeBiden! The friendship between our two countries is a force for global good. It will make the planet better and more sustainable.”
“The ground covered by my last visit will strengthen our bonds more,” he said.
In its weekly email update, the White House said Modi’s state visit underlined the deep and close partnership between the United States and India, and reinforced the two countries’ shared commitment to a free, open, prosperous, and secure Indo-Pacific, and shared determination to raise the bar Their strategic partnership in the field of technology, including in the fields of defence, clean energy and space.
“The leaders discussed ways to further expand educational exchanges between the United States and India, and people-to-people relations, as well as our work together to address shared challenges from climate change, to workforce development and health security,” the statement read.
