Former WWE star Kassius Ohno, better known as Chris Hero, has shared a story of having “jelly knee” due to Adam Cole.
Ohno and Cole faced each other in a match on NXT on March 21, 2018. This was the only time they met in WWE. It was a match so good it even received three and a half stars from the Wrestling Observer.
in appearance on Podcast listUno discussed the match and revealed how he suffered a knee injury in the match. He called it “jelly knee” and it happened when he hit the steel steps.
“I guess you can’t really see it but I have a jelly knee from a match in 2018,” Ono said. “It’s my generation’s knee and I’ve been wrestling with this guy named Adam Cole, who’s in AEW right now. I had a really fun match. He’s one of my favorite guys I’ve ever wrestled with and he pushed me into the ring from behind.”
He further added:
“And because of my height, only the top of my knee got smashed into steel steps and moved. Then eventually it came back but now it’s just a gelatinous knee. It’s gelatinous.”
Ohno was released by WWE in 2020 and has been inactive since then. Meanwhile, Cole did not sign a new contract and became a free agent in August 2021. He joined AEW a month later and has struggled with injuries for the past year.
Adam Cole was scheduled to face Tom Lawlor at AEW’s Forbidden Door event in Toronto, Canada on June 25th. However, Tony Khan announced a few hours before the event that the match had been cancelled.
Khan explained that Cole was not medically cleared due to the illness. The type of illness was not disclosed, but it was serious enough not to follow the match.
Cole is currently feuding with MJF for the AEW World Championship. They’re ready to team up first after coming together in a blind elimination tournament for a shot at the AEW tag team titles.
