Trainers have encountered a new bug in Pokemon GO where Raid Bosses live indefinitely at 1 Health Point (HP). Niantic had a rocky start to the year, but despite that, they were trying to be more transparent with the crowd. While that doesn’t mean they’ve stuck to player feedback, they’re reaching out to the community, which is a positive sign.

Recently, Pokemon GO has been plagued by a sea of bugs and glitches that have been annoying trainers. Since every update brings something new, there have been glitches where pure gems don’t work in Shadow Raids.

Then there was a glitch where regular trades were misclassified as private trades during the Axew Community Day.

Players are faced with a new problem where Raid Bosses stay alive indefinitely with 1 HP, making everyone hot under the collar. Coaches call this bug “Immortal Blitz” in Pokemon GO and have asked Niantic to fix this frustrating bug.

What are immortal raids in Pokemon GO?

@employee As evidenced by the timer and HP bar, this three star raid was visibly defeated, yet I never fainted. I lost my daily pass, win rewards, and progress towards 5 raids in the Starry Nights quest. please help # Pokemon Go

Trainers are experiencing a serious bug wherein bosses in certain raids stay alive at one point and cannot be defeated. The monster they are fighting eventually becomes invisible and continues to attack the Pokémon, and there is nothing they can do to stop it or dodge the attacks.

People used to call them Immortal Raiders, because the bug makes Raid Boss immortal. The players eventually run out of time, and the raid ends with a message:

“Time’s up! You didn’t defeat Raid Boss in time. Please try again.”

All you can do from now on is hit OK and re-do the raid from scratch. Players all over the world are facing this problem, which did not sit well with coaches. It is clear from the countless tweets and Reddit posts that the community has become restless.

Some players tried to explain why this error is a thing in Pokemon GO:

Another player provided video evidence of this error happening in real time:

Niantic admits the Immortal Raid bug in Pokemon GO

@Hegassen1 Thanks for sharing, Coach! We have received similar reports during the raids. If the raid is active, it should restart the app and join the Bonus Challenge screen. Let’s reach out via DM so we can get your coach’s info! ^ ta

Niantic support said they had “received similar reports”. What they did was ask the coaches to “DM” so they could get their coach info. No further details of how players will be compensated for the huge inconvenience have been revealed.
