A man named Sohail was electrocuted to death with a live wire lying in a flooded street this morning, India today mentioned. Sohail was in Delhi to meet a relative.

Earlier, a woman died of electrocution at New Delhi railway station after she touched an electric pole in a waterlogged area on Sunday morning.

The accident was said to have occurred at the entrance of the Paharganj side, near the taxi stand, at the New Delhi railway station. An unnoticed bare wire in the waterlogged area led to the accident.

The victim, identified as Sakshi Ahuja, had reached the railway station at around 5 am to catch the train. She was accompanied by two women and three children.

Bhopal Shatabdi was supposed to catch the victim. Trying to avoid the waterlogged area, Sakshi gets caught by an electric pole due to which she gets electrocuted.

Those present tried to save her and took her to the hospital, but she was declared dead. Sakshi was a resident of the Preet Vihar district of Delhi.

Deepak Kumar, CPRO, Northern Railways said that from the initial investigation, it appears that this accident was caused by the current due to the accumulation of water after the rains. “It appears that there is current leakage from the cable due to insulation failure and there is no shortage on the railway side. An investigation is being carried out to ensure that such an incident does not happen again. An electric safety motor has been started in the Delhi circuit so that such an accident does not happen again,” Kumar said. once again.

On the other hand, the NHRC has sent notices to the Chairman of the Railway Board, the Delhi Government and the city police chief after the death of a woman due to electrocution in the New Delhi railway station complex.

In a statement, the NHRC said that along with the civil and electrified authorities, the Indian Railways had also “apparently failed to maintain a vigil over such life-threatening lapses” at the station, one of Delhi’s busiest public spaces.

These incidents were reported after the monsoon reached the national capital on Sunday, two days before its scheduled start.

Light rain was recorded in parts of Delhi early Tuesday, and the minimum temperature dropped to 24.5 degrees Celsius, three degrees lower than normal. An official from the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said the city received 5.6 mm of rain in the past 24 hours ending at 8:30 am on Tuesday.
