Police said on Tuesday that eight men have been arrested for allegedly shooting a person over a financial dispute in CR Park area of ​​South Delhi. The accused have been identified as Anoop (28), Govind Gupta (32), Gaurav (36), Neeraj (30), Faridabad residents of Haryana, Rakesh Kumar Goyle (42), Abhishek Singh (22), Anmol Gupta (26) and Prince ( 20) From Sangam Vihar, they said.

Police said the police received a PCR call regarding the shooting near Bata Gallery in CR Park on Thursday. The complainant stated that he and his friend were heading towards the New Friends Colony in a car when some unknown persons shot him and ran away, said a senior police officer.

They said that the complainant was shot in the right hand and his mobile phone was damaged by the bullet. Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Chandan Chaudhary said, During the investigation, the police checked more than 350 surveillance cameras and covered 17 km of the reverse road of the area and reached Sangam Vihar near the complainant’s house. Chowdhury said some people were seen roaming near the complainant’s house and were found to be conducting reconnaissance.

A raid was carried out and two accused – Neeraj and Gaurav – from Faridabad were arrested. They said they have revealed the name of the snipers as Anoop and Govind and they were captured from Uttar Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh.

A motorcycle, a country-made pistol, a semi-automatic pistol, three live cartridges, one rickshaw and Rs 25,000 in cash were seized in the crime, the police said, adding that later, four other accused and one Rs. lakh has been recovered.

Goyel revealed that he lost a huge amount in the betting run by Sachin Gupta, who added compound interest on it and it came to Rs 75 lakh. Police said it was decided to give Rs 1.5 lakh per month as interest till full payment. Being a shopkeeper, it was a huge amount that he had to pay every month. In order to get rid of him, he planned to kill the complainant, Sachin Gupta.

They said that he gave the contract of killing to Govind and Anup through Anmol and Prince. Anmol settled the murder from Rakesh for six lakh rupees, but gave more money to Prince in the amount of Rs 3.5 lakh, who also hired two shooters Govind and Anup for this work for Rs three lakh, police said. Anoop was previously involved in four criminal cases. Police added that Gaurav and Neeraj were seen surveying the complainant near his house for four to five days before the incident and gave information about the complainant’s movement to Anoop and Govind.
