WTT Contender Zagreb 2023, the eleventh event in the World Table Tennis (WTT) Series and sixth Contender Series event of the year, kicks off in Zagreb, Croatia. The tournament, which kicked off on June 26, features a total of 32 singles players, 16 doubles teams and eight mixed doubles doubles, all competing for valuable ranking points.

On the first day of the competition, several exciting matches were held that tested the talent and skill of the participants. Players from different countries got into intense battles, aiming to secure their spots in the next rounds of the tournament.

In the first round of the men’s singles qualifier, Vladislav Ursu of Romania faced off against Sanil Shetty of India. Ursu ​​showed great style and determination, and in the end emerged victorious in a tough competition.

Another compelling match unfolded between Manav Vikash Thakar of India and Jordi Picolin of Italy in the second round of the men’s singles qualification.

Felix Wetzel of Malta had a tough challenge against Manush Utpalbhai Shah of India. Despite his best efforts, Wetzel was unable to overcome Shah’s tremendous performance and was knocked out of the tournament.

Harmeet Desai, representing India, showed his prowess on the table tennis court in a tough match against Ivor Pan of Croatia. Through skillful strikes and strategic play, Desai scores an important victory, which ensures his advancement to the next round.

In the first round of the women’s singles qualifiers, players from different countries showed their talent and determination. Cheng Pusyuan of Chinese Taipei and Sreeja Akula of India fought a pitched battle, and Cheng was ultimately victorious.

Ser Lin Qian from Singapore had a tough challenge against Reeth Tennison from India. Both players showed exceptional skill and fighting spirit, which made the match an exciting encounter. However, Tennison emerged victorious after a grueling competition.

India’s Dia Shitali put in a great performance against Aikaterini Tolio of Greece, dominating the match with her skills and earning a deserved win.

The first day of WTT Contender Zagreb 2023 offered fans great matches and intense displays of talent and sportsmanship.
