The body of a 45-year-old man was found in a housing society in Derbasi on Tuesday. The police opened an investigation after the body was recovered.
The deceased was identified as Charanjeet Singh, a resident of Gulmohar. Charanjit has a wife, two children and a mother.
Charanjeet’s mother, Sachi Bala, alleged that her son was murdered by a financier who lived in the same community on the 6th floor. She said that her son took a loan from the financier. She added that her son ran a mobile repair shop outside their community.
Charanjeet’s wife, Sonia, said her husband went to meet the financier on the sixth floor on Monday evening, and called her around 1am to prepare some food for them. Sonia said, “The financier’s driver carried the food from our house but my husband didn’t come home until the morning, in the morning we came to know that the body had been discovered.” The House Officer of Dera Basi station, Sub-Inspector Jaskanwal Singh, said they have no comments at this point.
