Two senior Gujarat-cadre IFS officers — Chief Wildlife Control Nityanand Srivastava and Deputy Forest Conservator (Surendranagar) Nikunj Patel — are touring Germany for a meeting on Wild Ass conservation.
The meeting, which will take place on Film Island, has been organized by the Convention on Migratory Species Secretariat (CMS) between June 26 and July 1.
The two officers were nominated by the Union’s Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change to participate in the meeting.
India is a party to the CMS and the meeting was convened to achieve various objectives related to Wild Ass, such as reviewing its status and distribution, identifying the main threats it faces and preparing an action plan for it
maintain.
