Karnataka Lokayukta Police on Wednesday conducted massive searches across the state in connection with 15 disproportionate assets cases registered against 15 government officers at Lokayukta Police Stations in Bengaluru City, Bangalore Rural, Ramanagara, Chikkaballapura, Chikkamagaluru, Madikeri, Tumkur, Vijayapura, Bagalkiot, Kalaburagur Raichur, Belagavi, Kolar and Yadagiri.

Simultaneous searches were conducted of residences, offices and residences of relatives of the accused government officials in 62 locations resulting in forfeiture of more than Rs 30 crore.

The accused government officials belong to various departments, including Agriculture, Rural Drinking Water and Sanitation, Engineering, Town and Country Planning, Public Works Department, Health and Family Welfare and Karnataka Rural Infrastructure Development Limited. Karnataka Lokyawkta said in a statement that all cases are currently under investigation.

Searches were conducted at 11 places in Ajith Kumar Rai, Tahashildar (2nd Class), Bengaluru East Taluk, KR Puram, Bengaluru, (FIR registered at KLA Bengaluru City, PS), which resulted in the disclosure of properties worth approx. 1.9 crore. , including Rs 40 lakh in cash.

The searches also turned up documents related to several properties in the names of other people running in hundreds of acres of land and also several luxury cars which are currently suspected to be belonging to the defendants’ Banami.

Raids were also carried out at Chetana Headquarters, Joint Director, Joint Director’s Office, Department of Agriculture, Bagalkot, (FIR registered at KLA Bagalkot, PS). Two places associated with the accused were searched, which resulted in the discovery of property worth approx Rs 1.45 crore, including Rs 32 lakh in cash.

The raids were also conducted at Krishna Ramappa Sherur, Agriculture Officer (Tech-2), ADA office, Bilagi taluk, Bagalkote (FIR registered at KLA Bagalakote, PS). Four premises belonging to the accused government officer were searched, which resulted in the disclosure of approximate property worth Rs 71.88 lakh.

The raids were also carried out at the headquarters of Jinnappa Padmanna Shetti, AEE, Rural Drinking Water and Sanitation Division, Muddebihala (FIR registered at KLA Vijayapura, PS). Three premises belonging to the accused were searched which resulted in the discovery of property worth approximately Rs. 1.42 crore.

Investigators also raided premises connected to Bhimanagouda, Junior Engineer, AEE Office, PWD Sub-Division, Basavana Bagewadi (FIR registered at KLA Vijayapura, PS). Two places belonging to the accused were searched which resulted in the discovery of property worth approx Rs 1.9 crore.

The property of Chief Minister Abdul Bashir, Food and Drug Administration, Madikeri Sub-Division, Rural Drinking Water and Sanitation Division, Kodagu District (FIR registered at KLA Kodagu, PS) were also raided. Three premises belonging to the accused were searched resulting in the discovery of property worth approx. Rs 1.14 crore, including Rs 14 lakh in cash.

Raids were also made in places connected with Sharanappa, member of the secretary, assistant’s office. Town and Country Planning Director, Sindhanur (FIR Registered at KLA Kalaburagi, PS). Four premises belonging to the accused were searched which resulted in the discovery of property worth approx Rs 2.03 crore including Rs 14 lakh in cash.

The premises of KH Ravi, Joint Director, Office of Joint Director, Department of Agriculture, Tumakuru (FIR registered at KLA Ramanagara, PS) were also raided. Six premises belonging to the accused were searched resulting in the discovery of property worth an approximate value of Rs. 4.27 crore.

Lokayukta Police also raided premises belonging to GN Prakash, AEE and PWD (FIR registered at KLA Raichur, PS). Two places belonging to the accused were searched which resulted in the discovery of property worth approximately Rs. 2.71 crore.

Intelligence men also conducted raids on properties related to Shekar Hanumant Bahorobei, E (Eli), O&M Deven, Jeskom, Hagaripumanali, Vijayanagar (FIR registered at KLA Belagavi, PS). Four premises belonging to the accused were searched resulting in the discovery of property worth approximately Rs. 3 crore.

Property related to V Ramesh, Tax Inspector, Gouribidanur Tq. (KLA registered FIR Chikkaballapur, PS) was also raided. Five premises belonging to the accused were searched resulting in the discovery of property worth an approximate value of Rs. 2.44 crore.

Lokayukta Police also raided the property of Vishwanatha Reddy, AEE, Office of Health and Family Welfare Division, Engineering Sub-division, Raichur I/c Yadgiri (FIR registered at KLA Yadagiri, PS). Two premises belonging to the accused were searched which resulted in the discovery of property with an approximate value of Rs 1.27 crore.

The intelligence men also raided premises belonging to KB Puttaraju, AE, Rural Development and Panchayath Raj Engineering Sub-Division, Sira Tq. (FIR registered at KLA Tumakuru, PS). Four places belonging to the accused were searched which resulted in the discovery of property worth approx Rs 1.04 crore.

Police also raided Kodandaramaiah V, AE, Grade-2, KRIDL, I/c AEE KRIDL, Tumkuru District (FIR Registered in KLA Kolar, PS). Six premises belonging to the accused were searched resulting in the discovery of property worth an approximate value of Rs. 2.47 crore.

Raids have also been carried out on premises belonging to Gangadhar Y, Planning Director, Nirmithi Kendra, Chikkamagaluru District (FIR registered at KLA Chikkamagaluru, PS). Four premises belonging to the accused were searched which resulted in the discovery of property valued at approximately Rs. 3.75 crore.
