Karachi (Pakistan): before Eid al-AdhaKarachi residents are facing a cash crunch as ATM machines are running out of cash, Geo News reported on Wednesday.
The feast will be celebrated across the country on June 29 and customers are complaining of reduced ATM services before the feast.
“The ATMs are not working before Eid. We have visited the ATMs several times since this morning, but there is no money,” said people who have problems with this issue.
Customers usually complain about ATMs not working or running out of cash just before Eid. This usually happens when people withdraw a large sum of money to pay for the animals being sacrificed.
this year, Eid It will be held in Pakistan on June 29 (Thursday). The Day of Arafah, which falls on June 28, falls within the four-day holiday declared by the government for the general public.
“June 28, 29, and 30, 2023 (Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday) for offices that operate five days a week; and June 28 to July 1, 2023 (Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday) for offices that operate six days within a week,” reports Geo News.
According to a statement issued by the Cabinet Division, the government had earlier given the nod to a three-day holiday to mark Eid al-Adha, Geo News reports.
