Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday presided over the 42nd Pragati meeting to accelerate infrastructure projects worth Rs 1.21 crore spread across 10 states.

Pragati or Proactive Governance and Just-in-Time Implementation is a platform devised by the NDA government to expedite project implementation, and bring states and central ministries on a platform to resolve outstanding issues that may hinder projects.

Twelve projects were reviewed on Wednesday, seven from the health department, two from railways, and one project each from road transport, highways, steel, oil and natural gas.

Projects have included building AIIMS in Rajkot, Jammu, Awantipora, Bibinagar, Madurai, Rewari and Darbhanga.

“These projects have a cumulative cost of over Rs 1,21,300 crore and relate to 10 states, including Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Odisha and Haryana, and 2 states of Jammu and Kashmir, “Dadra and Nagar Haveli.” So far, Pragati platform has reviewed 340 projects worth around Rs 17.05 crore, the Prime Minister’s Office said in a statement.

According to the PMO, Modi asked the stakeholders to resolve outstanding issues and adhere to the timetable for completing the projects, keeping in mind their relevance to the public.

The Prime Minister also reviewed the “Prime Minister Svanidi Scheme” for street vendors and urged the country’s chief ministers to identify and cover all eligible urban street vendors, particularly in Tier II and Tier III cities, under the scheme.
